The curriculum of Information Science and Engineering has been designed keeping in view its immediate relevance in our social, commercial and domestic lives. Knowledge emanating from the departments and laboratories of Universities are of immediate use to the corporate sector and generally influences social fabric of the society.

 

Introduction

This Program is designed to provide conceptual knowledge of core courses in the field of Information Science and Engineering. The various courses offered are in the areas of programming languages, database management, computer graphics, computational complexity theory, software engineering, algorithms, system architecture, and operating system, among others. The Program will emphasize on teaching fundamentals of basic courses along with practical applications. Apart from core courses, students will be offered program electives.

Subjects such as data structures, OOPs, design and analysis of algorithm, UNIX programming, FAFL, File structures builds a platform for the students to grab the latest technologies of latest trends of the industry standard.

Getting Started

Student should have passed 2nd PUC /12th standard or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Biology as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study and obtained a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects.

In case of candidates belonging to Karnataka Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and other Backward Classes (Category I, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination.
